   Sooooo I find myself back in Windhoek & back to the grind stone;-) as they say. It was quite a culture shock to be back. Can’t say that it was easy to come from paradise & to deal with the chaos that is life. However all seems to be falling back into place. The box is back to normal, busy, full of colourful and certainly interesting people. The safaris to Sossusvlei are going well and trips to Etosha are better than ever. I think life (certainly mine) will never just flow without a few rapids but (does anyone’s?). Thankfully I seem to have an inbuilt self-inflatable raft and long may it last 😉 Thanks Barry & Diane.

 

Some of you know this but I really wanted to walk all the way through to the North. This was as it turned out not possible.  These walks are my way of finding a bit of peace but somehow I found myself feeling depressed as I had not achieved my goal. What do you do when you don’t achieve a goal?????? Try again…. Yeeeehhaaaaa….. Sooooooo a new plan has been hatched……..

 

 

That is right; I am sticking my neck out for the giraffes.

 

 

 

 I will be walking from Swakopmund to Epupa falls on the Kunene River in June and July next year to raise awareness and funds for Giraffe conservation. It is all very exciting and we are chatting about all the great ways of this to happen. We will have a web site about the walk and the vital statistics of our supermodels of the bush. We will be on social media and I will be wearing a Giraffe collar so you will be able to follow my every step 😉

 

 

An idea i have is to break the walk up into sections and have you all to come walk with me for a week or so. I will be walking through the Erongo region, Damaraland and Koakoveld. Some of the last true wilderness areas in Africa. Home of not only our tall, graceful friends but the last home of free roaming Black Rhino. Our desert Elephants and lion may also make a guest appearance. Maybe we can get a few Himba folk to walk with us as well????????  I will be crossing the Ugab River. I have done it a few times in the last 20 years.

Finally (for now) I would like to thank all you freeking awesome people that supported me through this walk. Without getting soppy it really was so cool how so many people had such great things to say and it gave me so much motivation. It was also great to do a little bit of reconnecting with old friends. It puts a lot into perspective. You all rock. Thanks to you I found my LUST FOR LIFE!!!!!
